MAN TGX EfficientLine 2 in long-haul transport

The MAN TGX EfficientLine 2 is an efficiency champion

An efficient economy needs smooth-running mobility. In order to preserve valuable energy resources, commercial vehicles must be as fuel-efficient as possible. The MAN TGX EfficientLine 2, consistently designed for maximum fuel economy, fully meets this requirement.

Enjoy several different savings with the MAN TGX EfficientLine 2: The truck is particularly efficient, its numerous efficiency-boosting features increase its resale value and you also benefit from highly attractive pricing.

Equipment provided as standard on the MAN TGX EfficientLine 2 with standard 4x2 semitrailer tractor:

Whether you opt for the MAN TipMatic® 2 Fleet with fully automatic control or the the MAN TipMatic® 2 Profi, which can be operated both automatically and manually: The 12-speed shift system features an optimised gear shifting strategy to significantly reduce diesel consumption. The MAN TipMatic® 2 also provides two extra gearbox functions: Speed Shifting (faster gear changes in higher gears) and Idle Speed Driving.

The mixture of materials and construction of the energy tyres reduce deformation and thereby reduce rolling resistance and fuel consumption. Alcoa Dura Bright aluminium rims with Continental ECO-PLUS tyres are fitted on the front and rear axles (not including spare wheel and holder).

The aero package and chassis side panels improve aerodynamic drag significantly. The omission of sun visors and a correct spoiler setting also help to save fuel.

The Air Pressure Management (APM) function from MAN switches the air compressor off automatically if it is not required.

The new generator, which features 10 A more current and a 4% higher efficiency level, contributes to fuel reduction and has an impressive longer service life.

The MAN daytime running lights only require around a quarter of the power of dipped halogen lights.

Setting the speed limiter to 85 km/h instead of 89 km/h reduces rolling resistance by approximately 10%.

Compressed air tanks*, tank systems, aluminium rims and the elimination of the spare wheel reduce the weight of the vehicle significantly and increase the payload by up to 500 kg.

The voucher includes a theoretical and practical module for training professional drivers to optimise their economical, fuel-efficient driving style. (Not available in all countries at present)

MAN's GPS-controlled EfficientCruise® cruise control uses stored maps to recognise uphill and downhill sections on the road ahead. This automatically allows the truck to be driven with anticipation, i.e. momentum is built up before uphill sections and the vehicle rolls over the summit at reduced speed at the end of climbs. Using MAN EfficientCruise® in long-distance or distribution transport can reduce fuel consumption by up to six percent - without any time being lost.

Extra equipment for boosting efficiency:

If tyre pressure is just 2 bar below the optimum setting it can increase fuel consumption by 0.2 litres per 100 km. TPM checks the correct air pressure and helps to eliminate 90% of all punctures.

Automatically shutting down after four minutes idling helps to save fuel and cut CO2emissions.

These lights have a long service life and require less energy.

This application optimises vehicle use and economic driving.
